Privacy policy
Effective 24 September 2026. The short version: QuickCue does not collect any information about you.
What QuickCue stores
QuickCue saves the following on your own device, using your browser's built-in extension storage:
- The cards you write, and the tags and character names you give them
- Your 20 favorite emoji
- The characters you create
- Your settings: how cards are sent, Blur images, whether the emoji tray is open, and which side the sidebar sits on
- The web address of a chat, next to the character you told QuickCue it belongs to. This happens only when you answer "Who's this for?" or press Keep, and is not recorded from Incognito windows
- Which name you chose for a chat's tab title (for example, that "Chat with Mira Castellane" means your character "Mira")
- Which character you last selected on each site, or that you chose "No character" there (the site's name only, such as example.com). This is not recorded from Incognito windows
This information never leaves your device. QuickCue has no servers, no accounts, and no sign-up. We cannot see your cards, and we have no way to recover them if you remove the extension or clear its data.
What QuickCue does not do
- It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information
- It does not read, record, or send your conversations or the contents of pages you visit
- It does not use analytics, tracking, cookies, or advertising
- It does not load or run code from the internet
Access to web pages
QuickCue only interacts with a page after you click its toolbar icon or press its keyboard shortcut. When you do, it adds the sidebar to that page. When you click a card or an emoji, it types that text into the page's message box. If it cannot find a message box, it copies the text to your clipboard so you can paste it yourself.
To fill in a character's name, QuickCue reads the title of the current tab (the text shown on the tab itself, such as "Chat with Mira Castellane") and the tab's web address (which on some sites contains the character's name) while the sidebar is on the page, so it can keep up as you move between chats. It does not read the contents of the page. A name taken from a title is not saved unless you choose to keep it as a character. The title is used on your device only and is never sent anywhere.
When Blur images is on, QuickCue applies a visual blur to images and video on the page. This happens entirely in your browser. Images are not analyzed, copied, or sent anywhere.
Incognito windows
QuickCue runs in Incognito windows only if you turn that on in Chrome's extension settings. Your cards are shared between regular and Incognito windows, so a card you create in an Incognito window is saved on your device and appears in regular windows too.
Removing your data
Delete individual cards from inside the sidebar, or remove the extension from Chrome to delete everything it has stored.
